Dental implants can be used to replace missing tooth. In this procedure, an artificial tooth is fixed to the jawbone of the patient. This procedure has become very popular among people who use dentures. These people want to discontinue the use of partial or complete dentures because they  are fed up with them. They are very difficult to wear and have to be taken out once or twice a day, which can be embarrassing for the people who wear them. The dentures get in the way of talking, eating and various other activities. Most people have a negative reaction when they see someone taking off dentures and this causes the patients much pain.

The dental implants are usually made of very durable and tough materials. They have the look and feel of the real thing and unlike natural teeth, they are virtually cavity free.
